#2 Camping

Another way to enjoy the great outdoors, dogs love camping! Even if tenting isn’t your style, there are cabins and yurts for rent across the country, many of which are pet friendly. There’s nothing better than spending time at the lake or around the fire, all of which you can do with your pup.

#3 Kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding

Did you know that Canada has more lakes than any other country in the world? This means there are many opportunities for Canadians and their dogs to enjoy water sports. With ducks, leaves, floating sticks and other boaters, dogs generally love a good paddle! Just remember to get a little doggy life jacket for your pooch, safety first!

#4 Road trip

If you’re not much of an outdoorsy person, take your dog on a road trip! Plan a trip with pet friendly stops along the way. When road tripping with your dog, ensure that they are in a safe location in your car and are offered water regularly, with frequent rest stops. A doggy road trip is also the perfect way to get those instagramable snapshots!

#5 Dog park

Maybe the dog park is a normal routine for you, but dogs just love it! There are always new dogs to meet, squirrels to chase and smells to sniff. Dog parks can be enjoyed year round and are a great way for your dog to get exercise. Just make sure your dog is licensed, well socialized and responds well to recall before visiting.
