In the mood for a cheesy comfort food fit for a pupper? Let’s make some Monch Mac & Cheese.

Ingredients:

  1. ½  tbls butter
  2. ½  tbls AP flour
  3. ¾  cups water
  4. 1 cups oat milk
  5. 1 ½ cups whole wheat macaroni noodles (uncooked)
  6. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  7. 1 Monch bar (any flavour)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor or blender, crush the monch bar until it resembles the texture of coarse sand (can also do this step using a zip lock bag and rolling pin to crush). Place in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a large stockpot over medium-high heat.
  3. Add flour, and stir until combined.
  4. Cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
  5. Then pour in ½ of the water, and stir (or whisk) until the mixture is completely smooth and begins to thicken.
  6. Gradually pour in the remaining water and milk, stirring until evenly combined.
  7. Stir in the pasta until combined.
  8. Then continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the mixture just reaches a simmer.
  9. Reduce heat to medium-low to maintain the low simmer.
  10. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for about 9-10 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked.
  11. Remove from heat, and stir in the cheese until melted.
  12. Let cool completely
  13. Top with Monch crumbs
  14. Feed to doggo
