in a mood to whip up a special meal for your dog? Our jambalaya would not disappoint!
Today we are going to make the heartiest meal for your doggo and you! A classic jambalaya rice dish.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 chicken breast (cubbed)
1 bell pepper (yellow or orange) seeded and diced
1 teaspoon dried parsley
½ can plain tomato sauce
½ cup short-grain brown rice
1 ¾ cups water
Instructions:
Heat the olive oil in a medium Dutch oven or soup pot over medium heat. When hot, add the diced chicken and cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add the bell peppers and cook for 3 minutes or until they are just tender.
Add the parsley and stir in the tomatoes
Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Once at a simmer, stir in the brown rice and cook for 1 minute, and then add the water. (It will look very soupy. Don't worry, that’s normal)
Bring to a boil, then immediately lower to a simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 50 to 55 minutes or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Let cool completely
Feed to doggo
